QPR interested in Northampton defender Goode

QPR are interested in Northampton Town centre-back Charlie Goode.

The 24-year-old was on Fulham’s books as a teenager and played non-League football for AFC Hayes before a spell at Scunthorpe United.

He was signed by Northampton last year and his performances in League Two for the Cobblers have attracted the attention of several Championship clubs – he played a key role in his side winning promotion via the play-offs.

Those clubs include Brentford, who have been monitoring Goode for some time but have not made an approach.

Rangers, on the other hand, have made enquires about him and indicated they are willing to pay around £500,000.

QPR manager Mark Warburton is keen to sign at least one central defender this summer.
