QPR confirm Masterson’s new contract

QPR have confirmed that Conor Masterson has signed a new deal.

Masterson has been given a three-year contract after impressing in his first season at the club.

West London Sport recently revealed that Masterson, Osman Kakay and keeper Seny Dieng were in line for new deals.

Manager Mark Warburton is keen for Dom Ball to also be given a new contract.

There is some uncertainty over the future of Joe Lumley.

The keeper’s contract is due to expire next year and Rangers are currently minded to give him a new one.

But they would listen to offers for Lumley given that fellow keeper Liam Kelly has three years left on his contract and Dieng is pushing for a first-team place after impressing during spells out on loan.

Masterson was signed last summer after being released by Liverpool.

His new QPR contract was announced on the centre-back’s 22nd birthday.

“This is a nice birthday present and I’m buzzing,” he told the club website.

“I have enjoyed every moment at QPR, the opportunities I have had and I am grateful to be able to sign a new deal.”

Meanwhile, keeper Dillon Barnes has completed his season-long loan move from QPR to Hibernian.
