Transfer gossip: Speculation over Osayi-Samuel’s future

QPR winger Bright Osayi-Samuel
There continues to be speculation over the future of QPR’s Bright Osayi-Samuel.

The winger’s current deal is due to expire next year and he has rejected offers of a new contract.

Football Insider claimed on Tuesday that Glasgow Rangers are looking to sign Osayi-Samuel on a pre-contract agreement – and now claim Celtic are also doing so.

And Teamtalk reckon Crystal Palace are “leading the chase” to sign him.

West London Sport previously revealed that Palace were targeting Ebere Eze and that the Eagles were also considering matching Club Brugge’s offer for Osayi-Samuel.

But Palace, who signed Eze from the R’s, have so far not made a move for Osayi-Samuel and appeared to decide against doing so.

No approaches

Football Insider have previously linked Osayi-Samuel with various clubs and Ryan Manning with West Ham, Norwich, Watford, Everton, Southampton, Wolves and Newcastle.

Manning’s QPR contract also expires next year and the representatives of both players have been trying to drum up interest among Premier League clubs.

However, there have been no approaches for Manning, while Club Brugge’s is the only firm offer to have been made for Osayi-Samuel.

QPR have told Osayi-Samuel and Manning to decide once and for all whether they will sign new deals or potentially face being frozen out.

As Sky Sports reported on Wednesday morning, Osayi-Samuel is stalling over signing the contract in the hope that Palace come in for him.

West London Sport revealed in May that a £3m bid from Club Brugge had been rejected, revealed in July that an offer of £4.7m had been accepted – and subsequently revealed that Osayi-Samuel had decided against the move to Belgium.
