Round-up: Brighton want Chelsea’s Brown

Izzy Brown of Chelsea

Brighton have expressed an interest in taking Izzy Brown on loan from Chelsea.

Midfielder Brown, 20, impressed while on loan last season at Huddersfield, who were promoted to the Premier League along with Brighton.

The Yorkshire club, who have re-signed Kasey Palmer on loan from Chelsea, are keen to sign Brown on a permanent deal.

Brighton, meanwhile, have enquired about a potential season-long loan.

Colkett’s loan move

Chelsea midfielder Charlie Colkett has moved to Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem on a season-long loan deal.

The 20-year-old spent spells at Bristol Rovers and Swindon Town last season and now joins team-mate Fankaty Dabo at Vitesse.

New deals for Blues youngsters

Four Chelsea academy players have signed new contracts with the club.

Midfielder Josi Quintero (pictured) signed a two-year deal before joining Russian club FC Rostov on a season-long loan.

Meanwhile, Cole Dasilva – who scored in Chelsea’s FA Youth Cup victory over Manchester City – and promising striker Isaac Christie-Davies have been given contracts to the summer of 2018.

So has Sweden Under-17 international Ali Suljic, who missed last season with a long-term injury.

QPR accept Bowler offer

QPR have accepted an offer from Everton for Josh Bowler.

Everton will pay an initial £1.5m for the 18-year-old winger, with the deal potentially worth £4.25m with add-ons.

Bowler is now set to hold talks with the Merseyside club.

Rangers turned down previous offers from Everton for Bowler, but he rejected the offer of a new contract and talks between the two clubs therefore continued as it became increasingly likely the player would leave.

He is under contract at Loftus Road until the summer of 2018, having signed an 18-month professional deal in February.

Fulham close to signing Cisse

Fulham are close to completing the signing of long-time target Ibrahima Cisse.

A deal has been agreed with Standard Liege for the 23-year-old and he is in London to undergo a medical and finalise personal terms.

West London Sport revealed in January that the Whites wanted to sign Cisse. They subsequently saw a number of offers rejected.

Stearman moves on

Fulham centre-back Richard Stearman has joined Sheffield United for an undisclosed fee.

The 29-year-old moved to the Whites at the end of the summer 2015 transfer window from Wolves and returned to Molineux on loan last season.

Bees poised to sign South Africa midfielder

Brentford are working on a deal to sign Kamohelo Mokotjo from Dutch club FC Twente for a fee of around £880,000.

Mokotjo is a 26-year-old South Africa international who plays as a defensive midfielder.

The Bees are keen to strengthen that area with at least one signing this summer and are hoping to wrap the deal up as soon as possible.

The player is expected in London soon to undergo a medical and finalise personal terms.

Middlesex win

Middlesex secured a crucial County Championship win over Warwickshire by one wicket amid the highest tension at sultry Edgbaston.

A career-best 45 from 22-year-old Ryan Higgins, playing only his third first-class match, saw his side most of the way to a target of 234.

He was eighth man out with 24 still needed but last-wicket pair Tom Helm and Tim Murtagh found the seven runs required to see their side home to a victory which puts precious space between them and bottom-of-the-table Warwickshire.

Morris signs new Quins contract

Full-back Aaron Morris has agreed to extend his contract at Harlequins.

Morris, 22, joined Quins from Saracens in 2016 and made the first of his 10 appearances for the club in the Anglo-Welsh Cup against Exeter Chiefs, scoring an impressive try in the 29-15 victory.

He is currently recovering from a shoulder operation but is expected to be fit during the pre-season campaign in August.
