QPR’s contract offer to Bowler is rejected

QPR’s contract offer to Josh Bowler has been rejected.

West London Sport revealed last week that Rangers had offered Bowler a three-year deal and turned down Everton’s latest bid for the teenage winger.

Everton had returned with an improved offer after having a previous one turned down.

That offer was also rejected, but Rangers accept they are likely to lose Bowler, 18, if his head is turned by Premier League interest in him, so the news he has snubbed a new contract suggests a move this summer is likely.

He is under contract at Loftus Road until 2018, having signed an 18-month deal in February this year, and QPR are ready to sell if he is unwilling to commit his long-term future to the club.

Bowler was on Fulham’s books prior to being signed by the R’s in 2013.

He made his senior debut when he came on as a substitute against Norwich on the final day of the season
