Stephan admits frustration at QPR youngster Kolli’s injury woes
Julien Stephan says he would like to include Rayan Kolli in the QPR side more often.
Kolli, 20, has made just two appearances – both as a substitute – since August.
The youngster has picked up a number of injuries during the past year or so.
His cause has also not been helped by head coach Stephan having plenty of other attacking options.
Kolli has been sidelined for a number of weeks with another injury and will be unavailable until at least the end of the month.
And Stephan admitted: “I’d like to use him more but with the injuries it’s difficult.
“I think he has very good potential but, like all young players, he needs to train and needs the consistency.
“Of course it’s very disappointing for players when they are not on the pitch. We have to support him and continue to help him find the solution in order to be able to train normally and to play.”
Meanwhile, Rangers are assessing another injury suffered by Ilias Chair.
Chair, recently back after an injury lay-off, limped off just before half-time against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, and could be set for another spell on the sidelines.
The 3-1 win at Loftus Road was Rangers’ third victory in their past four matches and left them two points behind the play-off places. They are at home to Birmingham City on Tuesday evening.
