QPR expected to confirm signing of keeper Walsh
QPR are expected to finalise the signing of teenage goalkeeper Joe Walsh later today.
West London Sport revealed on Tuesday that Rangers were close to bringing in Walsh, 18, from Gillingham in a deal potentially worth up to £500,000.
He is expected to sign a two-and-a-half-year contract with the option of an additional year.
Rangers are keen to sign Walsh as one for the future.
A number of clubs have shown an interest in the youngster, who has made one league appearance for Gillingham.
He also played in a Carabao Cup tie against Stoke earlier this season and has featured six times in the EFL trophy.
QPR would also like to bring in a left-back and for some time have been lining up possible replacements for Bright Osayi-Samuel should he leave this month. The winger has joined Fenerbahce.
Rangers wanted Alfie Doughty but he chose to join Stoke City from Charlton.
Southampton’s Josh Sims, who is currently on loan at Doncaster, has also been linked with the R’s but is not among their targets.
The club’s priority is to bring in another central midfielder.
Rangers wanted a player in that position this month and have brought in Stefan Johansen, but Tom Carroll’s injury lay-off means they are now looking to make an additional signing.

When Dave Robinson in the comment above says rest Dykes and let Kelman have a chance, that sounds like it will put noses out of joint, I would rather say we have 4 strikers who get half a game each until they get game fit, then we will see who is performing better.
Sorry to be picky, just a slight change to what you said, that’s all.
All 4 need to train together, play together and listen to what Austin said, when he pointed out Dykes and him clicked in training.
Let the manager manage, let the Training staff Train and see what comes of it.

Since the arrival of austin & the formation change coupled with the BOS departure we seem more balanced.
I think it’s time to rest dykes & let Kelman have a chance.
