QPR confirm departure of Robinson

QPR have confirmed the departure of out-of-contract defender Jack Robinson.

West London Sport revealed towards the end of last season that neither Robinson nor Nedum Onuoha would sign new deals and were both set to leave Loftus Road. Onuoha’s departure was subsequently confirmed by the club.

“Jack will be leaving us. We made him a very attractive offer, but he decided to turn it down and take his chances in the market,” Rangers director of football Les Ferdinand told the club website.

Robinson, 24, was signed from Liverpool in 2014 and made 42 appearances for the R’s.

Meanwhile, Rangers are set to sell goalkeeper Alex Smithies to Cardiff City.

  • I'm sorry Robinson has made a decision to move away after we nursed him through his injuries & then he ended up as occasionally skipper
I understand he wants to play at the highest level but I think he has made a decision he may live to regret
I wish him well & hope it goes well for him
