Fenerbache closing in on deal to sign Osayi-Samuel from QPR – reports

Reports say Fenerbahce are closing in on a deal to sign Bright Osayi-Samuel from QPR.

The winger’s contract expires at the end of the season and he has rejected offers of a new deal.

Football Insider say Scottish clubs Celtic and Rangers have offered him pre-contract agreements in attempts to secure his signing for the summer but that Fenerbahce are in advanced talks to sign him during this month’s transfer window.

But Osayi-Samuel has previously shown a reluctance to move abroad.

West London Sport last year revealed that Club Brugge had had a £4.7m bid for him accepted and later revealed he had decided against joining the Belgian outfit.

Other foreign sides have been interested but Osayi-Samuel has repeatedly shown a desire to hold out for interest from English clubs.

He has been linked with several, but none have made a move for him at any stage.

Crystal Palace did consider matching Club Brugge’s bid during the summer but decided not to.

And QPR manager Mark Warburton is sceptical about reports Osayi-Samuel is heading to Turkey.

Warburton said: “Apparently he’s going to Celtic and Fenerbahce and Rangers as well. I hope he’s got a good passport.

“It’s all rumours and it keeps the media going. My only concern is Bright working hard, training well and performing well.”

However, Fenerbache have indicated they would be willing to pay QPR a transfer fee – and Osayi-Samuel a larger salary than Club Brugge offered.

Selling now would enable Rangers to avoid losing him for a compensation fee after his contract expires.
