Obikwu still out for QPR but Clarke-Salter back in training
QPR will again be without recent signing Justin Obikwu when they face Blackburn on Saturday.
The striker was brought in almost a month ago after top scorer Rumarn Burrell was ruled out until at least March with a hamstring injury.
Obikwu had been earmarked as a transfer target for this summer but the move was brought forward because of Burrell’s absence.
However, Obikwu picked up an injury in training shortly after signing for the R’s and is still yet to make his debut.
The problem initially appeared to be a minor one, but he will not be available this weekend either.
Head coach Julien Stephan said: “We have to see day by day. It’s normally not a long injury, but he hasn’t been able to train fully and won’t play against Blackburn.”
Meanwhile, Jake Clarke-Salter has returned to training as he looks to come back from another lay-off.
Ilias Chair and Jonathan Varane also took part in some of Tuesday’s session but are not yet ready to return to action.
