Chair back in training and close to QPR return
Ilias Chair is back in full training and is close to returning for QPR.
Chair has endured an injury-plagued campaign and has been out for just over a month with a hamstring problem.
It was feared that he would not play again this season – but West London Sport recently revealed that Rangers were in fact hopeful that he would.
And head coach Marti Cifuentes said on Wednesday: “Ilias has been working at a high level with the rest of the squad, full training, and he feels good.
“We’re aware that it’s the kind of injury that’s a bit tricky, so we want to go step by step with him, but I would be surprised if he is not ready to play some minutes before the end of the season.”
But it is unclear whether captain Steve Cook will feature again this season.
The defender, who turns 34 this weekend, has been struggling with a foot injury he initially suffered against Preston in December.
“Regarding Steve, I think it’s very unsure,” said Cifuentes.
“He has not been training over the last couple of weeks with the team. He’s doing individual work.”
West London Sport revealed on Sunday that Cook is set to sign a new contract.
