Willock, Amos and Roberts expected to be in QPR squad for opening game

Mick Beale expects Chris Willock, Luke Amos, Tyler Roberts and new signing Taylor Richards to all be available for QPR’s Championship opener against Blackburn Rovers next Saturday.

They missed the 3-0 pre-season friendly defeat by Crystal Palace, with Willock having only recently returned to training after having hamstring surgery last season.

Amos and Roberts, meanwhile, have been sidelined with hamstring and thigh problems respectively.

Richard was not involved against Palace, having only finalised his loan move from Brighton on Friday.

“Three of them trained yesterday. Luke didn’t but he trained this morning,” boss Beale explained.

“They’re all back in full training on Monday. All four are fit for next weekend unless they have a problem. But it’s what level of fitness – because they’ve had sporadic pre-seasons.

“Taylor had a good couple of weeks with Brighton and then he’s had four or five days when he hasn’t had much.

“Tyler tells me he feels really good. Chris has been training with us for over a week now and is getting stronger every day.

“What I don’t want to do is push anyone and create an injury.

“Luke is the one that’s done the least but that doesn’t mean that, with a good week under his belt, he couldn’t be involved next weekend.

“I’m planning to have all four available .”
