Deal agreed for QPR’s Larkeche to join Barnsley
Ziyad Larkeche is set to complete a loan move from QPR to Barnsley.
The Yorkshire club recently expressed an interest in Larkeche, as did fellow League One club Bromley.
And a deal has been agreed for him to return to Oakwell, where he spent most of the 2022-23 campaign on loan from Fulham before moving to Loftus Road on a free transfer.
He was highly rated by the then Rangers manager Gareth Ainsworth but struggled to establish himself as a first-team player.
The 23-year-old left-back spent the season before last on loan at Dundee. He was then earmarked for a run in the QPR side – and was given a new contract – but suffered a long-term knee injury during training last summer.
And with Larkeche not in head coach’s Julien Stephan’s plans for this season, Barnsley have moved to snap him up.
There has been interest too from the player’s native France, with Ligue 2 clubs Annecy, Rodez and Guingamp also enquiring about him.
Meanwhile, Swansea have joined Watford in showing an interest in R’s defender Jake Clarke-Salter.
And summer signing Boy Kemper is expected to be out for at least six weeks with an ankle injury.
