Mbeumo fit for Brentford’s opening game

Bryan Mbeumo has been passed fit for Brentford’s opening game of the Premier League season and Christian Norgaard is also available, but Frank Onyeka will need to be assessed.

Mbeumo and Onyeka picked up knocks in a recent friendly against Lille.

Norgaard has been building up his fitness after missing the pre-season trip to the United States for family reasons and will be in the squad for Sunday’s visit of Tottenham.


Bees boss Thomas Frank said: “Bryan is 100% ready and will start on Sunday. Christian is ready to be involved. Frank will be assessed to see how close he is.

“Christian is a tiny bit behind the fitness we want to be in, but he’s in a good place.”

Meanwhile, Frank expects keeper David Raya to complete a move to Arsenal.
