Milambo and Dasilva closing on Bees returns

Antoni Milambo is unlikely to be available for Brentford’s trip to Brighton on Sunday as he continues his comeback from a long-term knee injury, but Keith Andtews says the midfielder is close to a return

The Dutchman (pictured), signed from Feyenoord in the summer of 2025, has not played for the first team since suffering anterior cruciate ligament damage last October, but has returned to action for the B team this season.

He suffered the injury while playing for the Netherlands’ Under-21 side.

Josh Dasilva is also building up his fitness. He returned to the first team at the end of last season after being out with a knee injury since January 2024, but suffered a hamstring injury in August.

The midfielder came off the bench for the B team in Monday’s 2-1 win over Wycombe Wanderers Under-21s in the Premier League Cup.

Andrews said of Milambo: “Probably not [available] just yet. He’s trained pretty consistently over the last week, 10 days, and did a really tough session today (Thursday).”

Andrews added: “Josh is a little bit closer, but we’ll look to build him more and more as the weeks go on.”

Fabio Carvalho (knock) and Rico Henry (hip and quad) remain sidelined for the game, which Andrews has described as Brentford’s toughest of the season.
