QPR’s Stephan faces ‘difficult but good choices’

Julien Stephan admits he faces some tough choices now that he has a full QPR squad to choose from.

Keeper Joe Walsh remains sidelined, but several outfield players are available again after recent injury lay-offs.

The likes of Ilias Chair recently returned, and Kwame Poku is now also back in the frame after a couple of outings for Rangers’ development side.

Summer signing Poku, who went off during his debut, on the opening day of the season against Preston, is in contention for Saturday’s game against Ipswich.

The injury-plagued Jake Clarke-Salter has also been involved in training, although Rangers have plenty of other options at centre-back.

Head coach Stephan said: “We had 24 players in the training session and everybody is available and I have to make some choices for the starting 11 and the squad.

“I have some choices. Good choices. Strong choices. Difficult choices but good choices.”

Esquerdinha is another player seemingly in contention for a return to the squad.

The Brazilian left-back, 19, has not been involved in Rangers’ past three matches.

Stephan said: “He had just a little problem two weeks ago and we needed to be careful with him.

“But it’s OK now. He did a full session this week, so no problem for him now.”
