QPR’s Sandro fails Sporting medical

QPR midfielder Sandro

Sandro’s proposed move from QPR to Sporting Lisbon appears to be off after he failed a medical.

Rangers are hoping to offload the Brazilian midfielder, 27, this summer and a deal was agreed in principle for him to move to Portugal.

Sandro, who ended last season on loan at West Brom, moved to Loftus Road from Tottenham for £6m in September 2014.

He was plagued by knee problems prior to that transfer and has made just 28 league appearances for the R’s.

Meanwhile, QPR want to sign versatile Arsenal youngster Isaac Hayden but face competition from a number of clubs.

The 21-year-old has represented England at various age levels and is primarily a centre-back but can also play at right-back and in midfield.

He spent last season on loan at Hull City, who have indicated that they are interested in signing him. Several other clubs are also keen.

Hayden has made two first-team appearances for Arsenal, both of them coming in the Capital One Cup.

And Rangers are ready to end their interest in Metz winger Yeni Ngbakoto after having a second bid turned down by the French club.

They offered €1.25m (just under £1m) for the 24-year-old after having an initial bid rejected and do not plan to make another improved offer.

They want Sehrou Guirassy, 20, too, but Lille are demanding a big fee for the France Under-21 striker after he impressed during the recent Toulon Tournament.

Rangers also remain keen to sign Brentford left-back Jake Bidwell and have made a second bid for Huddersfield central defender Joel Lynch, but the Yorkshire club have again made it clear that they are reluctant to sell.
