Chelsea are hopeful John Terry will recover from his injury in time for Saturday’s derby at Arsenal.

The Blues captain, 35, strained ligaments near his ankle joint during his team’s recent 2-2 draw at Swansea and missed Friday’s home defeat against Liverpool.

But Terry will be assessed later this week to see if he is fit enough to feature against the Gunners.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s development side lost 2-1 at Reading on Monday evening – their first defeat of the season.

Blues youngster Alex Kiwomya has returned to the club to be assessed after suffering a dislocated shoulder while on loan at Crewe.

Hasselbaink has also said that he will make some changes for Wednesday’s EFL Cup game against Sunderland.

Rangers’ development side played on Monday afternoon. They lost 4-1 against Sheffield United.
