Ruben Loftus-Cheek has signed a new long-term deal at Chelsea.

The midfielder, 20, has had his contract at Stamford Bridge extended until 2021, while promising defender Dion Conroy, also 20, has signed a new deal too.

Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink is pessimistic about Pedro’s chances of making a quick recovery from a hamstring problem and is considering resting Diego Costa ahead of next week’s Champions League game against Paris St-Germain.

Hiddink has revealed that Alexandre Pato is now fit enough to play, but the Dutchman has again suggested that Bertrand Traore is ahead in the pecking order of Blues forwards.

Hiddink has also told Baba Rahman he must respond positively to being substituted at half-time after the left-back’s mistake led to a goal in the weekend win against Southampton.

Meanwhile, Conroy featured as Chelsea were held to a 0-0 draw at Southampton in the Under-21 Premier League.

QPR boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink says Tjaronn Chery showed a good attitude prior to the midfielder’s recent recall.
