Round-up: New signings, two leave QPR on loan, Cahill talks, Groves and Jumah ready

QPR midfielder Sandro

Chelsea, Fulham and Brentford all completed signings on Friday, while QPR midfielder Sandro completed his move to West Brom.

West London Sport revealed on Thursday that Rangers and the Baggies were in talks over a potential deal for Sandro – and he has moved on loan for the rest of the season with a view to a permanent transfer.

Another QPR player has also moved on loan – teenager Osman Kakay joined Scottish club Livingston for the remainder of the campaign after signing a new contract at Loftus Road.

With Rangers keen to offload Rob Green before Monday’s deadline, there continues to be speculation over his future – the Daily Mirror reckon Crystal Palace and his former West Ham are interested in the keeper.

It could be a busy few days at Chelsea. They have confirmed the loan signing of Alexandro Pato, while interim boss Guus Hiddink has confirmed that the club will also be signing American defender Matt Miazga.

Hiddink refused to confirm that Loic Remy is set to leave, but the Dutchman did reveal that he has held talks with Gary Cahill amid reports that the defender is unsettled at Stamford Bridge.

Hiddink also explained Chelsea’s reasons for allowing Ramires to leave this week, suggesting the Brazilian’s “beautiful” move to China was a reward for his performances during his time in SW6.

As well as speculation over Cahill’s future, there is plenty of other transfer gossip involving Chelsea, including The Sun claiming that Manchester United are looking to snatch Portuguese teenager Domingos Quina from the Blues.

Meanwhile, Chelsea fans on Twitter have been reacting to a stunning goal by young defender Ola Aina, who scored from the halfway line in an Under-21 game against Tottenham.

Brentford have signed defender Emmanuel Onariase, 19, from West Ham for an undisclosed fee.

Fulham have signed defender Michael Madl, 27, on loan from Sturm Graz until the end of the season with a view to a permanent move.

In tennis, Jordanne Whiley and Andy Lapthorne both lost their Australian Open doubles titles in Melbourne.

And in boxing, George Groves and fellow West Londoner Deion Jumah are ready for their respective fights this weekend.

Groves will face Itay’s Andrea Di Luisa at the Copper Box , where two-time ABA champion Jumah will make his British professional debut.
