QPR gifted goals away in a hammering at The Hawthorns and have now lost all their first three league games under Steve McClaren.
Joel Lynch hauled them level shortly after Matt Phillips had scored the first of two goals against his former club.
But Rangers fell apart in the second half.
Kieran Gibbs restored West Brom’s lead, Jay Rodriguez scored with a penalty, Dwight Gayle made it four and Rodriguez netted again from the spot before Phillips got the sixth and Hal Robson-Kanu the seventh.
Phillips opened the scoring just before the half-hour mark after defender Toni Leistner had given the ball away.
Keeper Matt Ingram produced a superb save to deny Gayle at point-blank range but the ball then fell to Phillips, whose shot went through Jake Bidwell’s legs and under Ingram.
Rangers hit back three minutes later. Matt Smith rose to head Luke Freeman’s free-kick and Lynch was on hand to wallop home.
But QPR’s shortcomings while trying to play the possession-based football boss McClaren wants were woefully exposed after the interval.
They found themselves behind again when former Arsenal man Gibbs fired home from the rebound after Harvey Barnes’ shot had hit the post.
Another defensive lapse, this time after Lynch had given the ball away, led to Josh Scowen bringing down Gayle and Rodriguez tucking away the resulting penalty to make it 3-1.
Another mix-up, this time when Leistner and Osman Kakay got in each other’s way, enabled Gibbs to square the ball for Gayle to score with ease.
And the fifth Albion goal came after another Rangers mess.
After Leistner hesitated, Ingram brought down Rodriguez, giving the striker another chance to score from the spot, which he gratefully accepted.
Phillips made it six after being set up Robson-Kanu, whose cool finish in injury time made it seven.
QPR: Ingram; Kakay, Leistner, Lynch (Baptiste 77), Bidwell; Scowen, Cousins, Luongo; Eze (Washington 58), Freeman; Smith (Wszolek 81).
Subs not used: Lumley, Chair, Smyth, Sylla.

Steve Maclaren states the 7 goal thrashing was unacceptable.
I have looked at the highlights and can see QPR do not have a team.
It looked like the U12’s verses the U16’s in a school boy match.
QPR were out of their depth lacking in direction and confidence.
It’s going to take a good manager to turn this around and at least 6 new recruits.
Unfortunately QPR will not have either of these resources for this season.
The only positive is the new Chairman will sort it out but probably already too late for this season.

The top goalkeeper and senior players released.
There is no surprise the team is struggling but 7-1 is a school boy score line.
Everyone knew there was a problem but no one has addressed it.
I am and always will be a QPR man born on the Queens Park Estate no more than 100 yards from the St Jude’s Institute where it all begun.
The owners are quite literally letting the side down and insulting our long and famous footballing heritage.
It’s the worst feeling facing another year of humiliation if you are a hardened QPR supporter like me people laugh up their sleeves. Not sure anyone would laugh in my face without consequence but l can feel it coming.

Don't panic.
Warnock traditionally get's sacked in the Autumn from his Premier League clubs.
If we continue this way, McClaren may be similarly short-lived.
Leaving the way open for an Amit-Neil reunion to rekindle those wonderful times of just a few years ago. Re-sign Ale Faurlin and Adel Taraabt (making sure to keep him away from the local pie shops) in the summer and we're made!

utter rubbish. Div 1 hear we come. When will we learn not to sack good managers.
Time for the other culprits of our demise we're shown the door,Les Ferdinand,Gary Penrice etc have All played a part in our current state of affairs,it's not fair to blame McClaren ,he hasn't been at the club long but the others have all contributed to the current state of our club.We are fast becoming a joke and those who got us to this stage should not be benefitting therefore sack them all.
First there was the Neil Warnock mistake (which division is he in now?), then we decide to go to the next level and get rid of the only QPR man we could find in 'Ollie only to replace him with 'the wally'. Good job you didnt confirm whether the level you were seeking was up or down. We have even sent Ryan out on loan - I guess that makes some sort of sense after selling our best goalkeeper for peanuts. But then he even spent the match on the bench anyway.
Let me know when you get rid of wally - the sooner the better otherwise its Hello div 1.
