Steve McClaren says his players will need help from QPR fans against Bristol City on Tuesday.

Rangers were demolished 7-1 at West Brom on Saturday and have lost all three league matches since McClaren took over as manager.

McClaren is looking for a strong response to the Hawthorns debacle but admits the morale of the side is brittle after their humiliation at the weekend.

“We have to react on Tuesday and make sure that doesn’t happen again,” he said.

“They’ll need help from the fans on Tuesday night. Everybody’s hurting. Let’s see how they (the players) react after being hurt, which is key in the process.”

Saturday’s result left Rangers bottom of the table and a home defeat against City would no doubt increase anxiety among fans.

“The key thing is what we do now,” McClaren said.

“I’ve got to use all my experience in the game. I’ve had downs before and situations like this and we have to find the solutions.”
