Jimmy Dunne’s header made it two away wins out of two for QPR, who remain unbeaten after their first three Championship matches of the season. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player in the 2-1 victory at Blackburn.

Pierce Charles: 7

Another assured performance – and another demonstration of his outstanding distribution, which is seeing him effectively operate as an extra outfield player.

Amadou Mbengue: 7

Always looked to get forward and was sound defensively as well, not least when taking up a spot-on position to cut out a Blackburn attack in the first half and immediately look to get Rangers going forward again.

Jimmy Dunne: 8

Came up with the all-important winner and in general had an excellent game at the back.

Jake Clarke-Salter: 7

Another impressive performance. Clarke-Salter has not only played in all Rangers’ games so far, he has also, encouragingly, looked better and fitter with each outing.

Dennis Cirkin: 7

Another impressive cameo. Lively at left-back before going off at half-time in a planned substitution.

Paul Smyth: 7

Lacks quality at times, and makes some poor decisions, but he remains an asset for his work-rate and tenacity. Equalised with a tidy finish.

Ronnie Edwards: 7

Another polished outing in midfield. Was involved in the build-up to the equaliser, sent an effort of his own wide, and was always alert to danger.

Nicolas Madsen: 6

Also replaced in a planned half-time substitution. Is rediscovering his sharpness after a recent injury.

Ilias Chair: 7

Did well again. Took up some great positions, continually posing problems for Blackburn’s defence. And he got through a fair amount of defensive work as well. Missed a decent first-half chance though after being set up by Rumarn Burrell.

Richard Kone: 5

Oh dear. Having had an afternoon to forget against Bolton and been given an immediate chance to make amends, this was the opposite of what was needed from Kone. He was off the pace from the start and contributed very little before being taken off in the second half.

Rumarn Burrell: 8

Excellent. Fit again after his hamstring injury, this was the Burrell of last season; a constant menace to defenders and always a threat with his pace and movement. Set up a chance for Chair and then set up Smyth’s equaliser with some great work on the right.

Tariq Lamptey: 8

So good. On as a half-time substitute, Lamptey – and his superb cross to Dunne for the winner in particular – oozed Premier League quality.

Glen Kamara: 7

A second fine display from Kamara as a substitute for the R’s. His presence in midfield could be vital this season.

Kwame Poku: 7

Also did really well after his introduction. Quick, direct – and produced a fabulous piece of trickery on the ball to set up a chance for Alfie Lloyd.

Alfie Lloyd: 7

Couldn’t take that chance, but Lloyd too made an impact after coming on. His pace and enthusiasm gave Rangers some much-needed vigour, with Kone having been so laboured up front.
