QPR striker Dykes tipped to get the better of Maguire

Former Scotland captain Barry Ferguson has tipped Lyndon Dykes to get the better of Harry Maguire at next year’s European Championships.

QPR striker Dykes played a key role in helping Scotland qualify for the tournament and they will face England at Wembley in June.

That could mean Dykes goes up against Manchester United’s England defender Maguire.

And Ferguson believes Dykes is likely to come out on top.

Writing in the Daily Record, Ferguson declared: “Dykes has been exceptional and he will absolutely relish going up against Harry Maguire at Wembley.

“What a battle that’s going to be and if I had to put my money on a winner, it would be the big QPR man.”

The Australia-born Dykes, 25, moved to the UK to join Queen of the South in 2016.

He has very much established himself as Scotland’s number nine since his move to west London from Livingston during the summer.

“From Queen of the South to the Euros in two years; I love stories like that,” Ferguson added.
