QPR are unsure how long Sean Goss is likely to be sidelined with a back problem.
Goss, who ended last season on loan at Glasgow Rangers, was expected to return to training the week before last.
However, the midfielder is still struggling and will not be fit for the start of the new season.
David Wheeler is making good progress in his comeback from a back injury but Goss’ condition is now causing some concern.
“Wheels is back training, but Gossy no. I don’t know how far away he is,” admitted Rangers manager Steve McClaren.
“It’s a shame about Gossy because I really liked him in the first two weeks of pre-season.”
