QPR make their move for Derby star Bryson

QPR have tabled an offer for Derby midfielder Craig Bryson.

The 27-year-old is one of Rangers’ top transfer targets following their promotion back to the Premier League.

Derby recently rejected a bid for him from Burnley and are hoping to persuade the player to extend his contract.

Bryson netted 16 goals last season and featured against the R’s in the Championship play-off final at Wembley, where Bobby Zamora’s last-minute winner took QPR up.

He scored two hat-tricks for the Rams last term, one of them coming against their East Midlands rivals Nottingham Forest.

QPR boss Harry Redknapp wants to sign at least one midfielder this summer and hoped to land both Bryson and Steve Sidwell, who opted to join Stoke when his Fulham contract expired.

Redknapp is also keen to strengthen his defence and has agreed a deal in principle to sign former England and Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand.

An offer has also been made for Cardiff’s much sought-after centre-back Steven Caulker, who is wanted by several other clubs.
