QPR striker Sylla faces spell out with injury

QPR striker Idrissa Sylla could be facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering a torn calf.

Rangers are assessing the extent of the injury, which will certainly keep Sylla out of Saturday’s game at Bristol City.

Grant Hall and Paul Smyth have also been ruled out of the trip to Ashton Gate.

Hall has been troubled by a persistent knee injury and is now nursing a problem with the other knee.

Rangers say the problem is not serious and that Hall is being left out as a precaution.

Manager Ian Holloway told the club website: “He has got a slight issue with the other knee so we just have to be cautious with him after so long out.”

Forward Smyth has still not recovered from thigh problem.

But Jordan Cousins and James Perch are both expected to be included in the Rangers squad.

Perch, who has not made a first-team appearance since August, has played in recent Under-23 games as part of his comeback from a broken kneecap.

Cousins has returned to full training following his latest hamstring problem.
