Smyth doubtful for Villa game along with Robinson

Paul Smyth is a doubt for QPR’s game at Aston Villa this evening because of a toe injury.

The 20-year-old forward has played in Rangers’ last couple of games, having recently returned after five weeks out with a thigh problem.

Rangers are also expecting to be without defender Jack Robinson at Villa Park.

Robinson was substituted at half-time against Sunderland at Loftus Road on Saturday after taking a heavy knock to the thigh.

“It was a terrible dead leg,” said manager Ian Holloway.

“Someone smashed him in the thigh and that is a bleeding bruise that’s in there and he could hardly walk. It was a really bad impact.”

Meanwhile, Jamie Mackie returned to action in an Under-23 game on Monday along with Idrissa Sylla.
