QPR hoping Laird and Paal return at Huddersfield

QPR are hoping full-backs Ethan Laird and Kenneth Paal will be passed fit to face Huddersfield on Saturday.

Paal limped off just before half-time at Hull last week after injuring his knee.

On-loan Manchester United right-back Laird missed the 3-0 defeat after suffering a hamstring strain during the 1-1 draw with Swansea.

On Friday morning R’s boss Neil Critchley was hopeful that both players would be able to train and then join the squad for the trip north.

“We’re hopeful Kenneth will train today. If he does then he will be in contention for the squad, so that is positive news,” Critchley said.

“Ethan will be similar to Kenneth. He is hopefully also going to train this morning.

“I’ll be having a meeting with the medical staff this morning and hopefully they will be giving me good news.”

Meanwhile, QPR striker Lyndon Dykes is still in hospital but might be discharged later on Friday.
