Onuoha’s move to QPR confirmed

QPR have completed the signing of defender Nedum Onuoha from Manchester City for an initial £2.5m.

The former England Under-21 international, who can play anywhere across the back four, has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract.

Onuoha played under Mark Hughes at City but was Rangers’ top target long before the Welshman took over as manager at Loftus Road.

He was identfied as a possible signing months ago and a bid was tabled within days of the transfer window reopening.

The 25-year-old had been out of favour at Eastlands for some time and spent last season on loan at Sunderland.

He is expected to be in the R’s squad for Saturday’s FA Cup fourth-round clash with Chelsea.
