On-loan QPR forward Roberts returns to Leeds

Tyler Roberts might well have played his final game for QPR, after returning to Leeds.

The Wales international has been unavailable for much of his season-long loan at Loftus Road, making just 14 starts and 20 appearances in total, scoring four times.

“Leeds have taken the view they want to get him back and have a look because it has been going on too long now,” said QPR boss Gareth Ainsworth.

“It’s not just at QPR – he had some issues at Leeds before and it’s a shame for the boy.

“I really hope he can get his career back on track, because injuries can be really cruel in this game.”

With 11 games of the campaign remaining, Ainsworth says he is hopeful rather than confident the 24-year-old will return to west London.

“We are hoping there is a chance, but he is now worse than where he was,” Ainsworth said.

“He was close to returning but he has since taken some backwards steps, but the physios here are keeping me updated with how he is doing.

“Hopefully he can get back but he is going to be one of those that’s back right at the end of the season rather any time soon.”

Meanwhile, Lyndon Dykes is set to return to the QPR squad for Saturday’s home match against Watford.
