Gallen: QPR need a striker and full-back

Kevin Gallen believes QPR still need to bring in another striker during this transfer window despite the loan signing of Tyler Roberts from Leeds United.

The former R’s striker was speaking to West London Sport’s Dan Bennett and Ian McCullough on the West London Sport QPR Podcast.

They discussed where the club still need to strengthen, and Gallen believes the team could do with further depth up front as well as at full-back.

“I’m just a little bit concerned with his (Roberts) goalscoring record for Leeds,” Gallen said.

“It’s not great and that says to me that he’s not an out and out number nine.

“I would like to see another out and out number nine, but they are hard to come by. I’m a great believer in the more strikers you have in the building for the season, the better.

“Regarding signings, I do still think we need two or three, at least two, full-backs. I really do.”

The trio also looked back on the opening pre-season friendly against Crawley Town and gave their thoughts on whether Macauley Bonne has a future at QPR following recent comments made in an interview in which he said he would like to return to Ipswich Town.
