Gallen: QPR need another striker

Kevin Gallen believes QPR need to bring in a striker with pace during the final days of the transfer window.

Rangers manager Mark Warburton is keen to sign a quick forward and would like to take Andre Gray, who played under him at Brentford, on loan from Watford.

Brighton’s Aaron Connolly is another potential option, while many fans would like to see the R’s bring Nahki Wells back from Bristol City.

And former QPR forward Gallen feels the draw with Barnsley on Saturday illustrated that Warburton’s side lack a striker who can run in behind defences.

Gallen said: “I would not be surprised if they go and get a striker with pace who can run in behind.

“Teams will play with a high line, press us really high and we haven’t got a runner to go in behind. So I will be very surprised if we don’t get a fast running-in-behind striker.

“They need a striker for an option for when we do come up against teams who are going to press us high.

“We need that option of someone who’s going to run in behind. We haven’t got that option at the moment.”

Gallen was joined by West London Sport’s Dan Bennett, Ben Kosky and Ian McCullough.

They discussed whether Gray would be a good signing – and gave their predictions for Rangers’ next couple of games.
