Transfer gossip: QPR keen on Rhodes, Sun on Sunday say

Some of the recent transfer speculation involving QPR….

QPR are interested in Sheffield Wednesday striker Jordan Rhodes, The Sun on Sunday reports.

Wednesday are desperate to offload Rhodes, who turns 31 next month and whose contract expires at the end of the season.

The Sun on Sunday say Rangers could do a deal to take him to west London.

Clubs linked with Dieng

The People claim Arsenal and Leeds are monitoring QPR’s Seny Dieng.

The Swiss has impressed since establishing himself as Rangers’ first-choice goalkeeper.

Osayi-Samuel speculation continues

West Ham are interested in QPR winger Bright Osayi-Samuel, it is claimed.

Rangers have long been open to offers for Osayi-Samuel, who is in the final months of his contract and has repeatedly stalled over signing a new deal.

And Teamtalk claim West Ham are among “a plethora of clubs” keen on him.

Several clubs have been linked with Osayi-Samuel in recent months but the only concrete offer came from Club Brugges.

West London Sport revealed earlier this year that the Belgian outfit had had an offer for him accepted and later also revealed he had turned down the move.

West London Sport also revealed that Crystal Palace were considering matching Club Brugges’ £4.7m bid.

The Eagles ultimately decided not to and there has so far been no sign of any firm interest from English clubs in Osayi-Samuel ahead of the January transfer window,

Nevertheless, Teamtalk claim West Ham and Palace both have him in their sights.

O’Shaughnessy touted for mobe

QPR have also been linked with Daniel O’Shaughnessy.

Football Insider have suggested Rangers are keen on the 26-year-old Finland defender.

He was previously at Brentford and is now with HJK Helsinki.

It was claimed that QPR are among a number of Championship clubs interested in O’Shaughnessy, who was at Brentford during Mark Warburton’s time as Bees boss.

Warburton has told West London Sport there is no prospect of him signing O’Shaughnessy.

“There’s absolutely no truth in that whatsoever,” said the Rangers manager.

“Daniel’s a lovely lad and playing well but has never been on our list.

“I’ve no idea where these stories come from.

“I’ve been linked with players I’ve never heard of before. I’d love to know where they emanate from.

“I’ve been linked with so many strikers and defenders and it’s ludicrous.

“I read these stories in utter disbelief sometimes.”
