QPR boss Beale has high hopes for Roberts

QPR boss Mick Beale has backed on-loan forward Tyler Roberts to show his quality this season, ahead of his debut for the club.

The 23-year-old has been nursing a thigh strain and is yet to play for Rangers this season since arriving on loan from Leeds United.

But the versatile forward is set to be involved in Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup clash with Charlton, and Beale has been impressed with what he has seen from him so far.

“I have to say, he’s looked fantastic in training,” he said.

“It looks like he’s going to be a really, really high-quality player for us.

“He’s got a really good profile when you see him on the pitch in terms of the size of him and he’s going to bring quality to our team in a number of positions.”

Sinclair Armstrong is also set to feature against Charlton having missed the win over Middlesbrough on Saturday because of a minor ankle problem.
