Armstrong and Roberts set to feature in QPR cup game

Sinclair Armstrong could make his full QPR debut in the Carabao Cup tie at Charlton.

The 19-year-old striker came on as a substitute in the opening-day defeat at Blackburn – his first senior appearance for the R’s since being signed from Shamrock Rovers last year.

He has since been nursing a minor ankle problem and was not in the squad for Saturday’s home win against Middlesbrough.

But boss Mick Beale has been lining Armstrong up for an appearance in Tuesday’s game and hopes to include him against the Addicks.

“Young Sinclair rolled his ankle on Tuesday and didn’t return to training until Friday, so it was best not to take the risk with him with the cup game coming up,” Beale explained.

Rangers also plan to give a debut to Tyler Roberts, who has not featured since his recent loan move from Leeds because of a thigh strain.

Roberts has since returned to training and is expected to be involved at The Valley.
