Austin faces month out and Mackie could miss three months

Charlie Austin faces a month on the sidelines and Jamie Mackie could be out for three months.

Both QPR players suffered hamstring injuries during the 4-0 defeat against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Friday.[phone][/phone]

Austin, who has scored seven goals for the R’s this season, limped off during the second half, while Mackie was replaced at half-time after suffering his injury soon after coming off the bench.

Mackie, who returned to Loftus Road during the summer for a second spell at QPR, was recently out with a groin problem and has not started a match since the opening-day defeat at Charlton.

A scan has shown that Mackie suffered a significant tear to his right hamstring.
