Ainsworth sets goals target for QPR strikers

Gareth Ainsworth believes strikers Lyndon Dykes and Sinclair Armstrong can both score at least 10 goals for QPR this season.

Youngster Armstrong has led the attack in recent matches and has sometimes struggled in front of goal, but has been hugely exciting.

And Dykes, fit again after a recent knee injury, came off the bench to score a late equaliser in Wednesday’s 1-1 draw at home to Swansea.

Boss Ainsworth said: “Sinclair has been in great form but Lyndon has come on and did what he does best.

“I’m expecting both of those players to be in double figures this season with the chances we’re creating.”

Meanwhile, Rangers are set to confirm the signing of United States international right-back Reggie Cannon.

The 25-year-old can be signed outside of the transfer window because he is a free agent, having quit Portuguese club Boavista during the summer because of unpaid wages.

Ainsworth has been keen to bring in a right-back for some time and Cannon’s move is expected to be formally rubber-stamped on Thursday morning.
