Silva wants Fulham to ’embrace the challenge’ during run-in
Marco Silva says Fulham must “embrace the challenge” of competing for a European place.
Sunday’s defeat against Chelsea was a big blow for the Whites, but boss Silva believes they should relish still being part of the end-of-season shake-up.
“We have been demonstrating the progression in our football club,” he said.
“Step by step we are going in the direction that the club deserves. But you are not, myself, never satisfied. We always want more.
“If you want to be successful, you work for these sorts of times. You want to arrive at the last stages of the season with the chance to fight.
“We are now in a position where we can fight for something and we are going to fight.

“We have worked so hard throughout the season to be here now, in a decisive moment for us, and we have to embrace the challenge ahead of us.”
Fulham, ninth in the table, will face bottom side Southampton on Saturday.
Rodrigo Muniz is set to miss the trip to the south coast, but Emile Smith Rowe could be involved.
