Injured Muniz to miss Southampton game

Fulham boss Marco Silva has confirmed that striker Rodrigo Muniz is set to miss Saturday’s game at Southampton.

Muniz sat out Sunday’s derby defeat against Chelsea and has not been able to train fully since.

Silva admitted Muniz’s absence is “a big miss” for the Whites – and suggested he might well also miss next weekend’s trip to Aston Villa.

“We’re almost sure Rodrigo is going to be unfortunately out for the next game,” said Silva.

“Let’s see after that, but straightaway after that it’s going to be very difficult to have him back.”

Meanwhile, Emile Smith Rowe has returned to training and a decision will be taken on Friday on whether he will be involved against the Saints.

Speaking at his pre-match news conference on Thursday, Silva was also asked whether Harry Wilson is ready to start following his recent injury.

“Harry is always a threat. We can use him from the start or the bench,” said Silva.

“I understand the question, but it has been a long period out of the game and training.

“He is in good shape and from the start or the bench he will definitely be involved. We need his goals and assists as well.”

Please don’t start ESR we need players who put some effort in and he never does.
