Muniz and Tete sidelined in double injury blow for Fulham

Fulham have been hit with a double injury blow, with Marco Silva confirming that Rodrigo Muniz and Kenny Tete face spells on the sidelines.

Both players missed Fulham’s 3-1 defeat at Aston Villa on Sunday.

They will also sit out Friday’s game at Bournemouth and are not expected to be available straight after the international break either.

“Right now, I can assure that Rodrigo is going to be out and Kenny Tete is going to be out too,” said Whites boss Silva.

“More than just this game, I believe, even after the internationals it’s going to be difficult for them to be ready for the next ones.

“Big miss for us, a big blow for us in terms of two important players, but it’s what it is. About how long, we have to wait.”

Silva confirmed that Muniz has a hamstring injury, with Tete’s being a knee problem, although it is not the same knee injury that the right-back suffered last season, and he will not need surgery.

“Completely different. It’s the same knee as last season but completely different,” said Silva.

“The type of injury but it’s the same knee. The first feedback that we got until now, nothing has changed really.

“We are going to keep progressing him in the same type of recovery, and the surgery is not necessary.”

Muniz’s absence will leave Fulham short of attacking options, although fellow striker Raul Jimenez, who also missed the Villa game, could return against Bournemouth.

“On Raul, we have to have a session and we have to make a decision to assess him today again and see if he’s going to be in condition or not again. Just later, we have to decide,” Silva explained.
