Fulham ‘trying to do something’ before transfer window closes – Silva

Fulham hope to make more signings ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline, Marco Silva says.

Whites boss Silva welcomed the recent arrival of winger Oscar Bobb from Manchester City and is keen to further strengthen the squad.

Silva said: “Of course we are trying to do something. We are going to, (or) if not, this group of players have been showing incredible quality, commitment and attitude.”

Silva was speaking after his side’s dramatic 3-2 defeat at Manchester United.

He was left bemused at the referee John Brook’s decisions in the lead up to United’s first goal.

After a penalty was initially given to the hosts, Brooks was advised by VAR to change his decision and give them a free-kick.

Silva said: “The penalty was given and (it was) a bad, bad, bad decision from John Brooks.

“The penalty was given by the tackle from (Jorge) Cuenca on the ball. Clearly, the penalty was given for that.

“The pull that they found after, the pull was three, four seconds before, the penalty was given by that moment.

“It was not a penalty from that tackle. Afterwards came a completely different decision and they gave a free-kick for a pull.

“It’s the first time this season that the penalty was given by one accident and it was decided by a completely different accident. And they gave a free-kick.

“It’s the first time that we have seen this all season, last season, two seasons ago.”
