Some of the stories in Saturday’s newspapers involving the area’s clubs.

Aston Villa are set to sign Nottingham Forest right-back Matty Cash, the Daily Telegraph reports.

Fulham expressed an interest in Cash, who is among the most sought-after players in the Championship.

But the Telegraph say Villa are in advanced talks to sign him for £12m and are set to see off competition from Sheffield United as well as Fulham.

Sun again tout Rice for Blues move

Chelsea have again been tipped to move for West Ham star Declan Rice.

Rice, who was on Chelsea’s books before joining the Hammers, has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for some time.

The Sun declare that the Blues are ready to move for him and are confident the asking price will come down.

West Ham are said to be looking for £80m for the England international, who has also been linked with Manchester City.

The Sun say Chelsea know the east London club need to sell in order to buy players and that they are “prepared to play the long game” in negotiating a deal.

Clubs linked with Bees star

Leeds United, Aston Villa and Brighton all want Brentford left-back Rico Henry, also according to The Sun.

The newspaper say Brighton are considering a move for Henry but face competition from Leeds and Villa.

West London Sport recently revealed that West Brom are interested in Henry and his Brentford team-mate Ollie Watkins.

The Sun claim Villa’s former Bees boss Dean Smith is among the other managers keen to snap him up this summer.
