Jokanovic under pressure at Fulham, Mirror say

The stories in Saturday’s newspapers involving the area’s clubs…

Slavisa Jokanovic is under pressure at Fulham following recent poor results, the Daily Mirror say.

The Whites, thrashed 5-1 at home by Arsenal, have conceded 21 Premier League goals since Jokanovic led them to the top flight.

The Mirror declare that “pressure is growing” on Jokanovic after a summer of big spending and that there are concerns within the club that his brand of football is too open.

The Mirror say “the club’s top brass are understood to want him to go back to basics, with an emphasis on defending” in order to improve results.

Meanwhile, West Ham are considering a January move for Gary Cahill, the Daily Mirror say.

A number of other clubs have recently been linked with the Chelsea defender, who has been overlooked by Blues boss Maurizio Sarri this season.

Cahill, whose contract expires next summer, has said that he is ready to seek a move when the transfer window reopens if he is still not in the Chelsea side.

The Mirror say West Ham are interested in taking Cahill to the London Stadium.

Cesc Fabregas, whose contract also expires this summer, is wanted by Atletico Madrid, again according to the Mirror.

The Mirror say AC Milan are among other clubs keen on Fabregas, who has said that he would like to stay at Chelsea.

And Chelsea are again being linked with Brescia’s teenage midfielder Sandro Tonali.

The 18-year-old was recently reported to be a target for the Blues as well as Italian clubs AC Milan, Inter, Juventus and Roma.

The Sun now claim Chelsea “will blow Serie A’s giants out of the water” by tabling a £20m bid for Tonali, who has been dubbed the ‘new Andrea Pirlo’
