Aston Villa v Fulham player ratings

Fulham earned a point at Aston Villa after a goalkeeping error by Zion Suzuki cancelled out Nicolas Jackson’s first-half opener. Here’s how we rated each Whites player in the 1-1 draw.
Bernd Leno: 7
Reacted sharply to keep out Victor Lindelof’s redirected volley after the break. A steady presence.
Timothy Castagne: 5
Got forward on the overlap a few times, but was one of the defenders Nicolas Jackson turned too easily for Villa’s goal.
David Affengruber: 5
Booked after Jackson got the better of him on the left, and was also left trailing in the build-up to the opener.
Calvin Bassey: 6
Captained the side and was solid enough, though his late lunge on Alysson as Villa broke in first-half stoppage time earned him a booking.
Antonee Robinson: 8
Fulham’s most dangerous player. He constantly got in behind Matty Cash, setting up Oscar Bobb’s big first-half chance and whipping in the cross Gonzalo Garcia was inches from converting, and forced a save from Zion Suzuki himself late on. Back on form after a poor display in midweek.

Sander Berge: 5
His handball from a Leon Goretzka header gave away an early penalty, and Fulham were lucky John McGinn hit the bar. His overall display wasn’t great.
Shea Charles: 7
Busy all night. His flick from a corner was heading in until Boubacar Kamara deflected it over, he curled a shot just wide on the hour and made a vital block on Alejandro Garnacho in stoppage time.
Oscar Bobb: 7
A constant menace on the right. He was denied by a stunning Suzuki save before the break, and his trickery created chances for Charles and Alex Iwobi in the second half.
Josh King: 6
Forced Suzuki out quickly to block before half-time and put in a dangerous cross that Garcia just missed.
Alex Iwobi: 6
Should have scored early on when he blazed over, and had a header saved and a shot deflected wide after the break. But his in-swinging corner brought the equaliser.
Gonzalo Garcia: 5
Worked hard but could not find the finish. He was denied by Suzuki’s fingertips, had his follow-up blocked by Lindelof, and missed King’s cross by inches.
