Arbeloa plays down King injury concern after Fulham draw

Alvaro Arbeloa played down a groin injury Josh King picked up during Fulham’s 1-1 draw with Newcastle.

King, who was called up to the England squad on Friday, was substituted in the second half.

Head coach Arbeloa said: “We’ll see. He felt some pain but it looks like nothing serious. We’ll see tonight, we’ll see tomorrow if they have to do some scans.

“He felt a little bit tight on the groin. I think it’s just like nothing serious, but we don’t know yet.

“You could see this afternoon again, another great performance. I think he’s a very talented player.

“His character, his ambition, is amazing, and I hope he will be available for internationals.”

Rodrigo Muniz’s equaliser earned a point for Fulham, who had a rocky start under Arbeloa but are now unbeaten in four matches.

“We are a new team. We are progressing. Small steps,” said the Spaniard.

“The players are learning, are improving, and we are on the right track.”

We are still missing so many chances and Garcia needs to improve his heading he keeps missing simple opportunities.
