Redknapp out to beat West Ham to the signing of Jelavic – report

QPR boss Harry Redknapp is looking to beat his former club West Ham to the signing of Everton striker Nikica Jelavic, The Guardian say.

Rangers and Everton are expected to discuss a deal for the Croatian today at Goodison Park, where they meet in the FA Cup third round.

Both Redknapp and Everton manager Roberto Martinez revealed on Friday that Rangers had expressed an interest in Jelavic, who has been out of favour this season.
