Transfer gossip: WBA want Phillips deal this week, Express & Star say

A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving the area’s Championship clubs…

West Bromwich Albion are looking to complete the signing of Matt Phillips from QPR this week, according to the Express & Star.

West London Sport revealed last summer that a bid for Phillips from West Brom had been rejected and more recently revealed that the Midlands club had made another enquiry about the winger but were yet to make an offer.

Phillips, 25, has been left out of QPR’s pre-season visit to the Netherlands along with midfielder Daniel Tozser as both players are keen to move on.

And the Express & Star say Albion boss Tony Pulis wants to sign Phillips in time for him to join the Baggies on their pre-season trip to Austria.
