Transfer gossip: Chelsea again linked with Kante

A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving Chelsea…

Chelsea have again been linked with Leicester midfielder N’Golo Kante by the Daily Mirror.

The newspaper say N’Kante, who has been outstanding this season, is a target for the Blues, Tottenham, Arsenal and Italian giants Juventus.

The Mirror also say Chelsea skipper John Terry is set to hold talks with incoming boss Antonio Conte but still does not expect to be offered a new deal when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The Daily Mail say Bayern Munich are bracing themselves for a battle to hang onto Arturo Vidal, with the Chile midfielder supposedly a top target for Conte this summer.

However, the 28-year-old has told a Chilean radio station that he expects to stay put.

“I still have time on my contract, have to think about my family, and I am happy here,” he said.

Meanwhile, Italian media reports suggest Chelsea have offered Roma’s Miralem Pjanic a three-year contract after meeting a £30m release clause in his contract.

Picking up on that, the Evening Standard claim Chelsea are confident of completing a deal to sign the 26-year-old midfielder.

And Borussia Mönchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl has insisted that Andreas Christensen will spend a second season on loan with the Bundesliga side.

It follows recent speculation that the defender might return to Chelsea this summer and that he could be targeted by other clubs.

“He has developed well and a lot of clubs are interested in him, but he will definitely play for Gladbach next season,” German media have quoted Eberl as saying.
