Transfer gossip: Speculation over Green, Pato and Remy

A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving the area’s clubs…

Bournemouth have again been linked with QPR goalkeeper Rob Green, this time by the Evening Standard.

West London Sport recently revealed that Rangers are looking to offload Green, 35, largely because of a clause in his contract that means he will land a new deal if he makes 30 appearances this season. He has so far made 25.

The Daily Mail later suggested that Bournemouth were interested, while today’s Standard reports that the Cherries are considering signing him during this month’s transfer window.

Several of today’s newspapers suggest Alexandre Pato is edging towards a move to Chelsea.

The former AC Milan forward, 26, has been desperate to secure a transfer to England for some time – he was previously offered to QPR – and is again being touted for a move to the Premier League from Corinthians.

The Daily Telegraph reports that he is valued at around £10m and that Chelsea could push for an initial loan deal with a view to a permanent move in the summer if he impresses.

The Daily Star, on the other hand, say Pato would cost £12m and claim Blues boss Guus Hiddink has been told the club must sell Loic Remy before he can bring in another striker.

Meanwhile, The Sun claim Real Madrid will look to sign Eden Hazard from Chelsea before a transfer ban is enforced.

The Independent, however, say the ban means that Hazard will be staying at Stamford Bridge.

And the Daily Mirror say Leicester have joined Chelsea and a number of other clubs in an apparent race to sign West Brom striker Saido Berahino.
